TOUR O’CLOCK

January 3rd, 2011

Surprise! We start tour tomorrow night with Drummers.

JANUARY 3RD: Boston, MA — Great Scott (CRUCIAL NOTE: Justin can’t make this one, so Stephen and Daniel are playing as IDNOCLIP. Still gonna be fun as hell.)
JANUARY 4TH:  Rochester, NY — The Bug Jar
JANUARY 5TH: Dayton, OH — South Park Tavern
JANUARY 6TH:  Chicago, IL — Quencher’s
JANUARY 7TH:  Indianapolis, IL — DIY Dojo
JANUARY 8TH: No show; presumably this is when we decide who has to walk home in order to make space for all the records we invariably bought.
JANUARY 9TH: Tamaqua, PA — The Happy Ending
JANUARY 10TH: Everyone goes back to work on three hours of sleep.
Daniel and Justin cranked out a gorgeous tour poster for the occasion; you can get prints at the shows or afterwards through Justin’s website. (Link forthcoming, of course.)
I’m too busy trying to pack before I fall asleep face-down in my own flight bag to gussy this post up too much but we are, as you might imagine, thrilled to be getting in the van. Hope to see some of you there.

Daniel covers The Millionaires

November 8th, 2010

Daniel, under the moniker Caspermask, took it upon himself to cover The Millionaires song ‘Party Like A Millionaire‘, which is a video you should surely watch. He played all the instruments alone in his bedroom and drank a number of diet cokes, thusly negating any party legend credibility he might of had.

So HERE

http://music.acitysafefromsea.com/

is where you can now officially stream or buy the record from us. We’ve got some test presses left over from our tour in January and there’s a way to buy it in MP3 on the cheap if you prefer an austere digital lifestyle, and if you never got around to snaggling the standard LP or CD versions there’s a way to pluck them straight off the bookshelf in our living room, pouf!, and ensure their expedient delivery to you. That is all! Enjoy your afternoons.

heat death of the univox.

June 3rd, 2010

practice and writing session in philly this weekend got cut short when swifts amp blew and despite all efforts, we couldn’t keep it running for more than 30 seconds. probably the heat, but who knows. given we drove 7 hours down there and now couldn’t actually play, but were in a huge white room with natural lighting and i happened to have my camera gear with me, we shot an impromptu video for ‘you and all your friends’. no concept, no story, just a series of well framed shots of the band in a cool room with a huge wide angle lens. we’ve got an awesome editor lined up whos worked on some friends videos, and hopefully well have something to share in july. in the meantime, some stills of the raw footage. goofy, i know, but whatever. we had fun.

LP available!

January 26th, 2010

$9.99 via http://magicbulletrecords.com/mailorder.html
on green or grey marbled vinyl. get on over there while the gettings good.
housed in a huge cardstock booklet with a printed inner LP sleeve, featuring all the information that is awesome to spread out and read while listening to a record. i couldnt be prouder of the final result of this whole project after all this time.

thanks to fedex, who left all the packaging to our copies on my back steps in the rain, a day early then their scheduled delivery, causing the boxes to soak up all the water and rain and collapse the stack down the stairs into the snowbank, a bunch of the packaging got horrifically water-damaged. trust me, this was an awesome site to wake up to. a $2000 print job soaking wet.

tour poster!

Throw Me Through Walls available on iTunes

December 30th, 2009

If buying a copy of our record in a format you can touch with your actual body seemed a little passé, you can now pick it up at the iTunes store, which means that if you’ve been putting off grabbing a copy you can now do so from the back seat of your car on your fancy futurephone or half-asleep on an open laptop with a couple of touchpad pokes or whatever. The future of digital media! Still kinda creepy to me! Either way I’m gonna be loading this thing up in iTunes a couple of times a day to try and figure out how I feel about being old.
